The term ‘butterfly coil’ is derived from the way two coils are arranged to increase or reshape the magnetic field. In your mind’s eye, think of two coils side by side so that they form a figure 8 and then imagine the two circular ends of the figure 8 as the wings of a butterfly. Simple as that!

In our world and in virtually all worlds where intensity, brightness or power is involved, we have to live with the ‘Inverse Square Rule’ which simply put says that as we double the distance from an energy source, we quarter the power. So power, or in our case ‘Intensity’ drops off at a very high rate as we move away from the source. There are several companies selling PEMF systems and they are trying to make you believe that their system is FDA LIsted, FDA Cleared, or FDA Approved. All of these companies except one or two that make trans-cranial pemf systems for use in hospitals are simply LYING to you. None of these systems are FDA Cleared.

Sometimes they say the technology has been cleared by the FDA, that may be true, but their system has not been cleared. Anyone who says otherwise should be challenged! Companies that lead you to believe that the polarity of their system is important are full of proverbial hogsplatter. The term PEMF clearly implies that the polarity of the PEMF signal will change periodically as the current changes direction within the coil creating the magnetic field. When one side of the coil or applicator is the North Pole, then the other will be the South Pole.

This is also the reason why you do not need to use a specific side of the PEMF coil applicator because the same field extends at both sides of the coil and the reason why you can use with the Curatron one ‘Very high energy coil’ for treatment of e.g. osteoarthritis in both knees at the same time by placing the coil between the knees.

Only static or permanent magnets have fixed polarity. Static or Permanent magnets simply offer nothing other than the placebo effect in the way of healing our bodies. The term ringer was created by someone unknown to me to represent the family of PEMF systems that we prefer to call ‘Impulse’ systems.
